The steering gave very little negative feedback
to the driver and was extremely controllable
in all situations, and the Honda Pioneer had
no issues climbing over the terrain and it felt
very stable for a confidence inspiring drive.
Also, the Blackstone tires worked extremely
well, and we didn’t suffer any flats during
our ride.

The
25" Blackstone tires on the Honda
Pioneer provide plenty of traction to
climb over anything on the trail &
we didn't suffer any flat tires
|
We also had a chance to test out the Honda
Pioneer in some deep mud, and it pulled right
through the mud pit. The fenders worked really
well at keeping most of the mud off the passengers,
which was a big plus because it is nothing worse
than having mud slung onto you while out on
a riding.

The
Honda Pioneer does a great job of keeping
the mud & water out of the cab with
the large doors & ample fender protection.
We took the Honda Pioneer through some
deep mud holes with hardly any mud reaching
us in the cab, which we feel is very important
& overlooked by some other manufacturers |
The power delivery of the Pioneer 700 is suitable
for the intended target of the machine. It has
a higher top speed than the Big Red, and we
were able to get it up to just over 40mph on
our ride, and it provides smooth power throughout
the power range. Riding four up in the machine
helps you realize the torque of the engine but
power loss is evident when fully loaded. The
automotive style transmission shifts very well
and was fairly smooth in switching gears.
All in all, we were really impressed with the
new Honda Pioneer 700 and 700 4, which was a
dramatic improvement over the Honda Big Red,
and it is a great value especially for the four
seat Honda Pioneer 700 4, and we couldn’t
wait to put the Honda Pioneer 700 4 to a real
world test drive in the Sierra Mountains for
a camping trip.
