The Honda Pioneer 1000 EPS models provides
the convenience of an automatic transmission
with multiple transmission modes with standard
auto and sport along with full manual. The Sport
mode allows the Pioneer 1000 to rev up to a
high RPM between shifts while the normal mode
shifts at a lower RPM for smoother transition
between gears that is barely noticeable. With
the ability to manually override the auto shifting
with the paddle shifters, we kept ours in the
normal mode the majority of the test drive and
manually shifted when we wanted to override
the system, and after a few seconds, the Pioneer
will return to auto mode, which is a great feature.

Honda
Pioneer 1000 Paddle Shifters are one of
our favorite features with the ability
to manually up & down shift when ever
needed without removing your hands from
the steering wheel |
The ability to shift gears without removing
your hands from the steering wheel is one of
our favorite features of the Honda Pioneer 1000,
and we won’t be surprised to see this same engine
and transmission combination released in high
performance sport SxS in the near future from
Honda because they work so well together, and
we all know that Honda is bound to release a
sport model soon and hopefully next year.
Besides just having a great engine and transmission
package, the Honda Pioneer 1000 has a great
chassis provides everything you need for a multipurpose
vehicle from ergonomics, suspension, handling,
and payload capacity. The Honda Pioneer 1000
is only a couple of inches wider and longer
than the original Pioneer 700, but with an entirely
new and different chassis.

Honda
Pioneer 1000 EPS model has the color matched
side panels on the door & bed, which
really add to the look on the machine |
The first thing that stood out about the Honda
pioneer 1000 is the new styling and color matched
door and bed side panels on the upgraded versions
of the Pioneer 1000 EPS, which really add to
the appearance of the vehicle over the standard
black on the base model.

Pioneer 1000-5 setup for hauling with
the seats hidden under the bed, which
has an impressive hauling capacity of
1,000 lbs |
With the extra width of the Honda Pioneer 1000,
it now has room for three up front with a center
seat with hand-hold straps and a shoulder belt
for added comfort and safety, and the Pioneer
1000-5 features the Quick Flip convertible rear
seats in the bed, which is a unique way of providing
more passenger seats. While they aren’t as comfortable
as the bench seats up front for a full size
adult, they do provide enough leg room for a
six foot tall adult, and the ride was fairly
comfortable, and for smaller passengers, they
would work even better. The nice thing is that
is fairly simple and quick to convert from the
flat bed to the seats, and with a shorter wheel
base than competition with five seats, it makes
the Honda Pioneer more versatile.
