Comparing these two machines is day and night
and there is no real way to compare them equally.
Every performance edge would go to the Rzr and
every work type challenge would be in the Rangers
favor, unless you consider racing back to the
farmhouse for lunch! I get asked almost daily
as to which machine I like best, and the answer
is always the same, as it comes down to what I
want to do. After having both I can't see the
question even being asked, but many see them as
competitors for which they are not in my view.
For the fun loving , racing and riding weekend warriors,
the Rzr will fit the bill as its performance oriented
inspiration will reign over any utility/work oriented
machine. For those such as myself who need a machine
that works as much as I do, then the Ranger trumps
any sport UTV simply based on the way they are
all different. We could look at spec charts and
power numbers but in reality it is the tool that
best gets the job done and it is up to you to
pick which tool works for your job. Personally,
the Ranger has met every expectation I ever had
and then some, and with the available add-ons
it can do even more then what I have used it for.
It rates very high on things I would take with
me if I had to pick and chose my favorite items.
The Rzr is just down right fun and if that is
what you’re looking for then it will not
disappoint. You can't go wrong with either as
long as you are honest with yourself as to what
you’re buying it for. I have been having
fun with both models and while I own the one,
they may have trouble locating the other as I
have grown fond of it for those days when an adventure
is needed to take you away from it all!

National
Guards / Polaris' William Yokley won the
opening round the GNCC UTV Season in a
slightly modified Polaris Rzr against
highly modified Rhinos and Teryx UTVs |
And for those that just can not get the racing
bug out of their system, UVT racing is exploding
all over the country with events being held
at many National ATV events. From stock to fully
modified the sky is the limit if one so chooses
to participate. One need look no further then
the last round of competition at the “Big
Buck” GNCC series where UTVs were raced
to see that for many, this type of off-road
machine could get even more involved in our
sport and grow it to yet another level as it's
popularity gains attention.
