2013 Polaris Scrambler XP 850 Sport Utility ATV Test Ride Review

2013 Polaris Scrambler XP 850 Sport Utility ATV Test Ride Review
::Continued::

The Polaris Scrambler XP 850 ATV is not only fast, but it is also very stable on rocky trails with the help of Electronic Power Steering. The EPS not only helps cut down on steering effort, but it also helps reduce kick back. We found ourselves grateful many times that the 2013 Polaris Scrambler XP 850 had EPS while riding over the rocky trails at high speed.

The 2013 Polaris Scrambler XP 850 ATV has a full 12 inches of ground clearance making it very easy to navigate over large obstacles without getting hung up. Also helping the overall ride are the FOX Podium shocks that come on the 2013 Polaris Scrambler XP 850 Limited Edition ATV. The FOX Podium shocks are specifically tuned for sport riding. The shocks are also compression adjustable and feature piggyback style reservoirs.

Despite being heavier than a sport ATV the 2013 Polaris Scrambler XP 850 Sport Utility ATV is well capable of catching some good air

While at Bull Run Guest Ranch we found several natural terrain jumps that we were able to catch some air on. Although the 2013 Polaris Scrambler XP 850 Sport Utility ATV weighs more than a normal sport ATV, it was fairly easy to launch the Scrambler and through it around in the midair.

The 2013 Polaris Scrambler XP 850 Sport Utility ATV features very comfortable ergonomics. The Scrambler XP 850 features a narrow gas tank and plush seat while seated on the machine. 33% Wider foot wells with holes allow water and mud to drain easily. The 2013 Polaris Scrambler XP 850 Sport Limited Edition ATV also features a large easy to read handlebar mounted instrument panel. Hand guards also come on the Scrambler XP 850 Sport Limited Edition ATV which saved our hands from getting hit a couple times on tighter trails.

To help slow the ATV down, Polaris chose to use braided steel brake lines with  single lever brakes in addition to engine braking on both the standard and limited edition models. The engine braking did a great job of slowing the machine down while going down hill and we relied less on the standard braking system thus reducing brake wear.

2013 Polaris Scrambler XP 850 Sport Utility ATV

Overall, we had a great time on the 2013 Polaris Scrambler XP 850 Sport Utility ATV.  The high output 850cc engine produces a great amount of power coupled with the electronic power steering, we think that both sport and utility ATV riders will enjoy this new model from Polaris.
