Interview:
Chuckie Creech - 2007 Extreme Dirt Track Pro
Racer - Continued
You’ve
made the podium three other times this season
and people have really started to take notice.
What’s made the difference and helped
you step it up this year?
Well, I have Walsh A-Arms…Wayne (PEP Suspension);
he’s a really smart guy and builds great
shocks. I called him up and told him what track
it was and he told me what I needed for this
race. Also Cycle Max…if it weren’t
for them, I wouldn’t have that bike. Sidewinder
Chain and Sprockets has really helped out a
lot, and so has Venom…if it weren’t
for the motor, I wouldn’t have pulled
that holeshot.
Besides racing in
the Extreme Dirt Track Series, you mentioned
racing in the Southern ATVA TTSeries?
We have a local race around North Carolina
and we go down to Virginia, which is one of
our home tracks.
How
many races does that series run?
16 rounds.
Are you able to compete
in all of those races?
Yes.
Are you one of the
top contenders in that series?
Yes, I’m about 15-20 points ahead in
all of my classes.
When did you actually
start racing in the Extreme Dirttrack Series
and just racing flattrack?
About six years ago in 2001.
What kind of quad
did you start out on?
A Yamaha Blaster. I had to run an open class
with 250R’s and other quads like that.
If someone spun out or something, I would
come in, in front, otherwise I was towards
the back.
When you jumped up
to a 250R yourself, is that when you made
the switch to pro class?
I ran one more season on the 250R before I
did that.
What has been one
of your other career highlights besides your
win today?
Actually it was just finishing first in the
local series because I didn’t know much
about nationals, but now, just trying to hang
with these guys at EDT Nationals, that means
a whole lot!
You
did extremely well this season. Congratulations
on your win! We’re looking forward to
seeing you race again next season.
