Florida (2/5/2015) - Young and upcoming racer Cole Richardson had a historic year in 2014. Richardson won a total of eight out of thirteen races in 2014 clinching the 2015 GNCC Racing Pro-Am Championship aboard his Yamaha YFZ450R.
We had a chance to catch up with Cole Richardson while he was training in Florida with fellow racer and friend Walker Fowler. Richardson gave us the inside scoop on his championship winning season, his winter training , and his plans for the 2015 GNCC Racing Season

You had an impressive year in the 2014 GNCC Racing series taking the Pro-Am XC2 ATV class Championship and the Number 5 plate?
Cole Richardson: Yeah I’ve been down here since about the second of January riding and training. I’ve been staying with Steven and Miranda Johnson, a great couple down here, and then I’m gonna go down further south into Sarasota area until the GNCC opener.

For 2015, the word is you are going to stay in the XC2 Pro-Am class and defend your 2014 GNCC Racing Championship.
Cole Richardson: Yeah, we’re going to stay back one more year and prepare more fully for the Pro class. When I move up, I want to be able to compete with the top guys and hopefully be able to stay there with them.

Considering you are still a teenager, it is a smart move to wait before you jump up into the GNCC Racing Pro XC1 class.
Cole Richardson: Yup that’s true, I’m eighteen now and will be turning nineteen in April.

What’s your thoughts on the 2015 GNCC Racing season coming up in about a month?
Cole Richardson: I definitely want to get another championship and get even faster this year, so I keep moving up with my finishes to prepare me for moving up to the Pro class in the future.
