Ft.
Worth, TX (3/11/2014) - Despite being
one of the oldest racers in the Mtn Dew AMA
ATV Motocross Championship Series,John Natalie,
still remains one of the top names in the series.
In 2013, John Natalie finished fifth in the Pro Class aboard his Honda 450R by earning three podium finishes. For 2014, John Natalie has stepped things up a notch and has designed a race program that has not only helped him train during the winter, but it also has helped many up and coming racers with with Natalie Experience.
We had a chance to catch up with multi-time ATV Motocross Champion John Natalie Jr. while down in Texas for the TQRA Racing Series Season Opener where he would win the overall in the Open Expert Class.
ATVriders.com:
What have you been doing over the Winter?
John
Natalie:
Mainly just been sitting inside of a dozer
and loader, building tracks! Well, a little
bit anyway! No, we’ve been down here at the
Ford’s house really testing and training and
getting the quads dialed in and I think it
shows. We’ve found a bit of speed over the
Winter, and I think we’re going to be a real
contender for the championship this year.

ATVriders.com: How about being down here in Texas training at the Ford’s private track?
John Natalie:
Yeah! The Ford’s are great people. They not only help me out, but they help out a ton of people, and they opened up their house and track to us, they are an awesome family!
|
John
Natalie Jr is on a very similar race
program as last year & he will remain
on a Honda 450R backed by Motosport.com
& DWT for the 2014 racing season |
ATVriders.com: Any changes to your race program this year John?
John Natalie:
Yeah we got a few changes, we’re going with Walsh this year! To have the whole Walsh crew on board with us this year is huge. Those guys have tons of knowledge especially with Mike Walsh being a former Pro racer. For the most part, we have most of the same sponsors, but we have a new one, Instaform, it’s a new company in the construction industry, and we have another one that’s come on with children’s cancer, it’s called Racin’ for Cancer, it’s a Mario Andretti program, and we’re going to try to get Andretti Motorsports involved in ATV racing.

John Natalie has been training in Texas at the Ford Family Compound |
ATVriders.com:
Can you tell us about the Natalie Experience? What exactly is the program and who all do you have in it currently?
John Natalie:
Well, we have Brody Runyon, Logan Steele,Tommy Vossman, Johannah Vossman, of course Bryce and Cody Ford, and Alex Waskob. The Experience is about the guys who actually aren’t in school can come and spend all of their time with me. Training at the gym, training on the quads, learning how to work on them, learning how to set them up. Tommy Vossman is actually homeschooled now and he’s spending 24/7 with me and I took him from a C-Class rider to someone who can win the B-Class and possibly even being A-Class material by the end of the year. He’s got a lot of heart and talent and we’ve been working hard. Of course Waskob we’ve got him in the Pro-Am class, and like I said, he’s never been on a quad and we’re gonna have him going for the Pro-Am championship. Logan Steele is going to be fast, and Brody Runyon are both in the little classes and going for wins in their classes, along with Johannah Vossman in the Women’s or Junior’s classes as well.

one spot on the podium at the ATV Motocross
Season Opener in Georgia |
ATVriders.com: Are you looking for any more people to join The Experience?
John Natalie: Yeah, we’d still be open to have other people come in and I’d really like to find other people to come in that were home-schooled and be able to spend all of their time with me because I can really take these guys from a lower class to the makings of a champion in whatever they are doing.

With the Natalie Experience, racers get an all inclusive training package from John Natalie seven days a week 365 days a year |
ATVriders.com:
So it’s a seven-day-a-week experience with you then?
John Natalie:
Correct, It’s a seven day, 365 days a year, as much time as they can spend. There’s a few different classes, there’s the top package like I said that we charge for and then we have a half type of a deal where kids that are still in school can come to riding schools in the summer and stay with me and spend as much time as they can.
