#14 Landon Wolfe
GNCC Pro ATV Racer

Florida (2/13/2015) - Landon Wolfe is a young up and coming racer that made the move to the GNCC Racing Pro ATV Class just last year.

Despite having some bad luck, Landon Wolfe finished just outside the top ten in his GNCC Racing Pro ATV Rookie Season.

We spotted Landon Wolfe while he was racing in one of the FTR races in Florida, so we hit him up for an interview on his GNCC Pro rookie season, what he has been doing over the winter, as well as his plans for the 2015 GNCC Racing season.

ATVriders.com: Landon Wolfe, you made the switch from the Suzuki LTR 450 to the Yamaha YFZ450R during the 2014 GNCC Racing season, and I see you are sticking with the Yamaha for 2015.
Landon Wolfe: Yeah we made the switch over to the Yamaha part way through the season last year and it’s been awesome. Things have been working out really well for us, and we pretty much have both of our race bikes built. My mechanic Barry has been working hard on that and the help from everyone else has been huge.

ATVriders.com: What made you decide to switch to the Yamaha over the Suzuki?
Landon Wolfe: The Yamaha is more reliable, and that they are still making them, which helps a lot. The parts are cheaper and more available, and it is easier to get support on the Yamaha.

ATVriders.com: Who is your big and main sponsors this year?

We’ve got Maxxis, FOX, Ye Olde Cycle Barn, Fly Racing, Yamaha, Highlands Powersports, DP Brakes, HiPer Wheels, Motoseat, ATV Innovations, Houser, HMF, IQ, Graphic Worx, Acerbis, Hinson, and most importantly Johnny Gallagher.

ATVriders.com: How long have you been down in Florida Training this winter?
Landon Wolfe: After Christmas we came down to Chris Borich’s house to train and ride and then packed up and headed to (Cole) Richardson’s house to do the same, and we are having a little bit of fun in the meantime along with racing these FTR’s and staying after it!

ATVriders.com: What’s your thoughts on going into the 2015 GNCC Racing season?
Landon Wolfe: I had a bad year last season, and I want to get a much better number, and I think I’m more than capable of it. I’d like to get into the top ten, but I am shooting more for a top five. As long as I stay after what I’m doing, stay healthy, and keep the bike together, it’ll be good.

ATVriders.com: Outside of just racing the quad this year, I heard you’re planning on racing a motorcycle as well at the GNCC Races?
Landon Wolfe: I started off on bike, and then switched to quads and I’m missing the bikes now and have a lot of friends that ride and race bikes. So I decided I’m going to be racing a bike on Sunday as well in the Open A class.

In addition to racing in the GNCC Racing Pro ATV Class, Landon Wolfe will also be racing in the GNCC Bike race on Sunday

ATVriders.com: What do you think about the first round of the GNCC Racing series going to Palatka, Florida?
Landon Wolfe: I’ve never been there and have heard quite a bit about it from the old-timers and heard it can get pretty nasty. There’s an FTR race there, so it will help me get to know the terrain and see what I can do.

ATVriders.com: How excited are you for the 2015 GNCC Racing season opener that is less than a month away in March?
Landon Wolfe: It’s been a while and I’m on a new machine and we made a lot of changes to the Yamaha, and I think it’s going to be a good start and my goal is to get through the first couple of rounds safe and be there in points, and I think it’ll be a good year.
