Daytona Beach, FL (3/20/2014) - Thomas Brown had the best season in his ATV Pro racing career last season by finishing second overall in the Mtn. Dew. AMA ATV Motocross Racing Series Championship. Brown collected an impressive total of eight podium finishes with one win racing aboard his Wienen Motorsports Yahama YFZ450R.

Thomas Brown is back for another exciting season of Pro ATV Motocross Racing as he battles once again with 2x Pro ATV Motocross Champion, and teammate Chad Wienen.

We had a chance to spend a week with Thomas Brown from Florida, Texas, and finaly California to chat about what he has been doing over the winter and his 2014 race program.

ATVriders.com: Tell us what you’ve been doing this winter!
Thomas Brown: This Winter has been crazy! We did a lot of traveling before Christmas, and I went out to California for the banquet and then a vacation for Thanksgiving family thing, which was a nice getaway and then also went to Vegas with Chad and the whole Freestyle MX crew and Colten Moore and it was a good off season. We got back to work right after New Years and have been in it hard, I built my own place in Texas, it’s a premier facility now. It allows me to do what I need to do on a day-to-day basis. Randy Poulter from Underground MX is the man when it comes to building tracks. He’s built mine and built a few others and they are all sick. I’m pumped to have that in my back yard and I feel that’s gonna be my biggest tool coming into this next season.

ATVriders.com: It’s nice that you can train right there at your house in Texas during the winter.
Thomas Brown: The weather is decent in the winter, and it’s not as good as say Florida and some days you gotta tough it out or go a little further South like Houston, but a few trips to Florida makes a big difference. My stuff came together later this year, but I’m heading back home now from Florida after five weeks of testing with Ryan Cox and the Wienen Motorsports crew. We got our Malaska motors running great, and I’ve got a shock test coming up with FOX. I can’t thank the team enough and with the season coming up I think it’s going to be good, I’m looking forward to being home more and putting my work in there. The Texas heat is intense, so I’m think anything the Nationals can throw at us I’ll be good for it.

ATVriders.com: You had a great end to last season, so you’re going to build off of that?
Thomas Brown: The last part of the season last year was a dream-come-true for me. If I could have won any national, Loretta’s would have been it. I would have loved to won earlier in the year, but for my first national win, it was huge! I had a ton of family and friends there cheering me on, more than ever and it was great to do it in front of them. It was like a home town race for me, the closest one to the house. Going into this season, I don’t plan on changing anything, I’m just gonna come out and take over where I left off this last season and put the hammer down.

ATVriders.com: You got to go to the X-Games and see Colten win Gold. You guys live close to each other and have known each other for a long time. How big was that?
Thomas Brown: The X-Games Gold for Colten, all I can say is it was the most excited I’ve ever been to see someone else win something. It was, walking away with him that day, and knowing that Caleb was there that day, and watching Colten literally dominate everyone by far, there is no other word for it. No one even came close to him that day. He had his ducks in a row and he was showing it. It was a cool day, and I’m super pumped for him and it was an amazing experience. I felt like that day, I won, just watching him I was, so much part of that crew. Everyone from Texas is like a big family down there and it was a win for everybody and for him to throw it down like he did and win it in that first run it was a huge relief, that’s for sure.
