As the 2009 GNCC ATV Racing series approaches the
halfway point in the season, the FRE / KTM ATV race
team is standing above the rest, with Adam McGill
leading the points race in the XC1 Pro class, Angel
Atwell leading in the Women’s A class and
Josh Kirkland leading in XC2 Pro-Am class, it appears
the FRE / KTM GNCC ATV race team is on track for
a stellar season
Although there were some changes
for this year, the team has adjusted well and
is at the top of their game. “We are really
happy with how things are going this season. All
of our riders have had consistent rounds and are
doing very well,” stated KTM’s Chris
Vogtman.

| The
success of the FRE / KTM teams goes beyond
just the racers, Tim Farr has assembled
an experienced race crew with multi-time
Pro ATV Champion, Shane Hitt, on board as
well at long time mechanic Sam Shahan |
“I’m really happy that they are doing
as good as they are, as quickly as they did,”
stated team manager Tim Farr. “Adam had
an advantage from this being his second year,
but Josh and Angel only had about three weeks
on the bikes before their first race, but they
went out there and did a great job.”
In addition to being extremely proud of his riders,
Farr also is pleased with the way things are going
with KTM in general. “Even though we had
to cut back in some areas to our budget, we still
managed to help out some other riders and we have
a really strong contingency program in place.
I think that helps us to set a good example as
a manufacturer in the racing community,”
Farr stated.
Team KTM FRE has certainly set an example for
this year and has definitely made an impact in
the points races, but Farr is still cautious when
speculating on the season end results. “If
they are able to stay consistent and not have
any major problems or injuries, I think we have
a shot at some championships this year,”
he said.

With some of the top riders in their classes,
top of the line machines, and guidance from a
racing legend, the KTM FRE team seems to have
the right ingredients for a successful season,
and with a little luck, quite possibly the right
combination for their first championships.
