Yamaha YFZ450R Special Edition |
|
Next up was the higher strung YFZ450R SE. We
have tested out the YFZ450R before and knew
what to expect with this high performance, high
revving beast. The YFZ450R has a wider stance
and lower center of gravity than the Raptor
700R, which definitely gives it an advantage
when carving dunes and riding aggressively.
The YFZ 450R is also an excellent jumper that
is well balanced and the Kashima coated shocks
soaked up even the biggest hits.

The
YFZ450R SE YFZ450R is the perfect ATV
for launching over some of the natural
terrain jumps found out in the dunes with
9.8” of travel up front and 11”
of travel in the rear & with it extra
width of 48.8" paired with a power
engine, the YFZ450R has no problem carving
the sand for some enjoyable dune riding

We were fortunate enough to spend two full
days out riding the YFZ450R SE and the Raptor
700R SE and we have to give a special thanks
to the folks at Camp Chef, who make some of
the best outdoor cooking products available.
Over the course of our trip, they kept us well
fed with everything from french toast for breakfast
to tri-tip steak for dinner, and even cookies
in between, which were made right at camp.

Camp
Chef partnered with Yamaha for the Glamis
SE Ride Event to showcase their outdoor
cooking products & Camp Chef's Tim
& Matt cooked up some incredible meals
over the two days at Glamis. We were impressed
with the portability & quality of
the units we inspected & they offer
tons of cooking accessories to go along
with their grills, ovens & smokers.

After spending two full days on the sand, we
feel that no matter which quad you prefer, the
YFZ450R or the Raptor 700R, you can't go wrong
either way. They are both incredible machines
that are not only a blast to ride, but with
the special edition color schemes, they are
very attractive as well. This was a great trip
for us and we are very thankful to Yamaha as
well for letting us check out their 2011 Special
Edition ATV's and we can't wait to see what
Yamaha has in store for next year's models.
