                                Glamis, CA (2/10/2011) - Annually,
Yamaha releases Special Edition sport ATV models,
and for 2011, they released a Raptor 700R SE in
June, followed by the YFZ450R SE in November,
and once again, these Yamaha Special Edition models
are well worth the wait with a great mix of styling
                                and additional accessories.

We at ATVRiders.com were invited out to the
desert sands of Glamis to check out and get
in a little seat time with both the YFZ450R
SE and the Raptor 700R SE. We've been out to
Glamis many times and in previous trips the
sand was rough and choppy, but this time, there
was a good wind blowing and the sands were smooth
and well-lipped, perfect for catching some awesome
air; and while much of the country is buried
in massive amounts of snow and freezing temps,
we were treated to sunny skies and mild temperatures
                                  in the seventies.

When we first saw the Special Edition Yamaha’s,
the first thing that struck us was the aggressive
color schemes of both quads. The Raptor 700R
is decked out in all black, which Yamaha dubs
as “Ghost Black” and rightly so
with its rather ghostly looking graphics, black
frame and wheels add to the dramatic look of
the quad, giving it an aggressive look to match
its performance. The Raptor SE also features
a wave-style rear disc brake along with a GYTR
front grab bar and heel guards.

The YFZ450R is tricked out with a black and
red color scheme. The quad comes with dual color
plastics, featuring red radiator shrouds and
rear accent fenders, that sets off the barbed
wire themed graphics quite well. The YFZ450R
also boasts a black frame and wheels and includes
a black swing-arm, which we thought really enhanced
the look of the quad. . It also features a GYTR
black front bumper and quick release fender
