Putting power to the ground in the 2016 Yamaha Wolverine is a 708cc dual overhead cam with CVT transmission. Although the Yamaha Wolverine is similar to the Yamaha Viking, the Wolverine engine features a dual overhead cam, increased bore and stroke, and a slightly larger engine compression ratio at 10.1:1.  Yamaha states that the engine was designed to have better engine character for its class with smooth power delivery, strong engine breaking, and better durability.
