Jeremy Lawson finished 8th Overall at Birch
Creek |
Jeremy Lawson had somewhat of a tough time of things
in moto one when he and Harold Goodman connected.
Despite his best efforts, Lawson was only able to
make his way to a 12th place finish. In moto two
Lawson had a mid pack start and recorded the fastest
lap time of the moto, but was only able to work
up to 6th place, which earned him eighth place overall.
Lawson and Gust are currently tied for eighth place
in the points race with 97 points each.
Greg Gee had two strong motos, finishing in the
top ten both motos and taking ninth overall.

which has him 11th in points |

Josh Creamer rounded out the top 10 after
dealing with electrical issues in Moto 1,
but he continues to hold down the 3rd spot
in points with 120 |
Josh Creamer was looking good, but ran into problems
halfway through moto one. “I had some sort
of electrical issue and the bike was cutting out,
so I just tried my best to hold my position,”
said Josh, who took a 14th place finish in moto
one. Moto two went better for the Kawasaki racer.
Josh was second off the line and held his position
for six laps before falling back to 5th. Josh
is currently third in the points race with 120
points.
Absent from this round was Nick DeNoble, who
suffered a bad wreck in round three, which compressed
the T-6 & T-7 in his spine, so he needed a
weekend of res, but DeNoble plans to be back for
round number five. Also, missing was Cale Downen
as he continues to recover from his Mill Creek
wreck into the fence

Lawson & Harold Goodman colliding in
Moto One, which sent the pair to the back
of the pack |
Things didn’t quite go Harold Goodman’s
way this round. Goodman connected with Jeremy Lawson
in moto one and was sent to the back of the pack,
and then mechanical issues held him back in moto
two.
Keith Little had a tough time of things this
round as well. Little had shock issues in moto
one which held him back, and in moto two, the
number 12 Kawasaki suffered a crash, which took
him out the race, but he is ok. Can-Am Motoworks
racer, Brandon Smith also crashed in moto one
when he nose dived off a jump.

Jason Dunkelberger hitting the hay bale
in Moto 2 |
Jason Dunkelberger made an appearance at this
round, but ran into some bad luck, along with
a couple of other things after being rear ended
by Can-Am Motoworks’ Jeremie Warnia. “I
got hit from behind and it sent me into the hay
bales. Harlen Foley was standing behind the bale
I hit and I ended up taking him out to,”
said Dunk. “I was really hoping he wasn’t
hurt. I looked down and saw him laughing and still
snapping pics, so I knew he was ok,” said
Dunk, with a sigh of relief. Luckily all parties
involved were just fine and were joking about
the incident after the race.
Round five of the AMA ATV Motocross Championship
series heads to Sunset Ridge in Walnut, IL on
May 3rd, where racers will be greeted by a tight
technical track. Last year’s Sunset Ridge
round was plagued by bad weather and cut down
to a one moto, winner take all event, where Dustin
Wimmer claimed the win. This time racers are hoping
for favorable conditions as they near the halfway
point of the season.
