AMA Pro ATV Motocross - Echeconnee Race Report
::Continued::

Maxxis/Yamaha/Moto-Xpert’s Thomas Brown was just outside of the top five on the moto one start and had a tough moto ahead of him. “Every time I seemed to make a pass I lost two positions. I got hit, I spun out. I was finally able to re-group and I had caught Rastrelli. I tried to make a move, and I was pretty worn out so I finished in fourth,” explained Brown.

Moto two worked out better for Brown. “I started a little farther back but I worked up and got second when Hetrick went down. After I got into second, Rastrelli was all over me, but I stayed ahead and got second. It was really a great race, and I loved the track. It was a true motocross track. There was passing and they let it get rough. I love it when it gets rough and wears me out at the end. They did a great job. I have to give props to my Maxxis/Yamaha/Moto-Xperts team. It was a good start to the season, and I am looking forward to a really great end,” said Brown.

JB Racing / Liquid Wrench’s Jeffrey Rastrelli showed he has been working hard in the off-season and is going to be a constant threat for the podium. In the first moto, Rastrelli was in the top five heading into the second lap and moved into third at the mid-way point. Rastrelli held off an attack from Thomas Brown and finished with a solid third place.

In moto two, Rastrelli had his work cut out for him. “I was in about eighth off the start and had to work up. I made it up to third and caught Thomas. I made a charge in the final lap to try and get him but it didn’t work. Overall I am happy with how my motos went. My fitness is good and I still had enough left to make a charge at the end, which is pretty good since this track was so rough. I think my JB suspension and PEP Shocks really helped a lot. We knew it would be rough and we made some changes and it worked out for us,” said Rastrelli.

Rastrelli’s 3-3 finishes gave him third overall for the day and his second career Pro podium finish. “This is my second career podium and there is no feeling like it. Everything started coming together last season and I am really happy to keep it rolling this season,” said Rastrelli.
