AMA Pro ATV Motocross - Echeconnee Race Report
::Continued::

Corrosion Specialties’ Joel Hetrick was on fire in the first moto. Hetrick grabbed the holeshot and never looked back, taking the win by over seven seconds. “My Maxxis Tires hooked up great and my DASA motor pulled hard out of the gate for the holeshot,” said Hetrick.

In the second moto, Hetrick again grabbed the holeshot, but this time he had company. “Chad Wienen was right there and I made a mistake and got into him and came off the quad. I got back on and worked my way back up to seventh,” said Hetrick.

Despite a fourth place finish overall, Hetrick is still sitting second in series points. “I’m glad it happened sooner in the season rather than later. I’m only six points behind and I am hoping to make that up,” said Hetrick.

Motosport / Maxxis / Fly Racing’s John Natalie was feeling confident heading into this round after his big win at the Daytona ATV Supercross and charged off the line in second in the first moto. Natalie soon had his hands full when Chad Wienen caught up to him and an epic battle ensued. “I got to second quick and Chad caught up to me. He came in hot inside in one of the corners and we got together,” said Natalie, who went down hard, but was able to walk away without major injury and continue on for a seventh place finish in moto one.

Natalie had a good start in moto two and was in third off the start, but his moto one crash left him a bit battered. “I had an ok start, but my ribs hurt and that made it hard to breathe, so I got a little tired and I finished fourth,” said Natalie, who rounded out the top five overall.
