An ecstatic, Jeremy Lawson, was all smiles
as he celebrated his return to the Podium
with a 2nd Overall finish |
Jeremy Lawson took his best overall finish of
the year as he crossed the line in second.. “The
track was fun and my DS450 was running the best
it ever has,” Jeremy stated. The Epic/Can-Am
racer has had some mechanical issues in past rounds
and a couple of nasty crashes and is pretty happy
with his second overall. “It felt pretty
good to be up on the podium again. I almost forgot
what it felt like!” he concluded.
Kawasaki’s Josh Creamer came across the
line in third, which earned him the final place
on the podium; his first podium since the season
opener at Glen Helen. Josh Upperman crossed the
finish line right behind Creamer in 4th, followed
by Harold Goodman who ran a very consistent race
all weekend. Doug Gust made the pass on Cody Miller
to take 6th overall, leaving Miller in 7th with
10th overall. Rocco Arno, Jr. crossed the line
in 8th place, followed by Kawasaki’s Russell
Shumaker and Suzuki’s Chad Wienen.

Meanwhile, John Natalie once again encountered
mechanical issues when his head pipe broke ending
things early for him. Keith Little, Pat Brown,
Tommy Hagar, John Ragon, and Hunter Miller also
had issuesthat forced them to DNF.

With the season reaching the halfway point, Dustin
Wimmer holds the points lead with 235, followed
by Doug Gust with 194. Joe Byrd is in 3rd with
178, while Josh Creamer maintains 4th with 146,
and John Natalie rounds out the top 5 in points
with 142.
Round 7 of the AMA ATV Motocross Nationals will
head to Unadilla in New Berlin, NY on June 7-8,
which is a favorite track among many racers and
will add to the excitement as the competition
begins to heat up as we head into the final races
of the 2008 season.
