Chris
Tait & Travis Spader |
In the first Moto, Dasa Racing’s Joe Byrd grabbed
the Holeshot followed by Jeremy Lawson, and Dustin Wimmer.
Unfortunately, Chris Tait and Travis Spader collided
coming out of the turn, which left Tait bruised and
battered. The race was Red flagged and Tait was taken
off the track on a back board to have his injuries evaluated
while Spader was returned to the starting line. It was
determined that Tait suffered no major injuries, and
he was free to race the second Moto but couldn’t
race in the first Moto.

Dasa Racing's Joe Byrd claims yet
another ATVriders.com Holeshot Award |
Upon the restart, it was once again Joe Byrd launching
out front with the Holeshot followed by Jeremy Lawson,
Pat Brown, Dustin Wimmer, and Josh Creamer rounding
out the top five. Lawson bobbled heading into the fourth
turn, which also caught up Pat Brown, which allowed
Wimmer to take over the runners-up spot behind Byrd.
After several laps of nearly side by side racing, Wimmer
made the pass stick on Byrd in the fourth lap to take
control of the lead. Byrd continued to challenge Wimmer
for the lead till the sixth lap when the pair recorded
the fastest laps of the day and Wimmer nearly broke
the two minute barrier with a 2:00.395.
