Best in the Desert Racing Series

Best in the Desert - Henderson 250 - UTV Race Report
::Continued::

#1919 Jagged X Racing /Polaris piloted by Brandon Schueler was the points leader heading into the final round. Schueler started on the fourth row, and decided to run a smart but fast race in order to wrap up the championship. Before the end of the first lap, Schueler found himself in second place behind Scott Kiger and knew that all he had to do was maintain his position to bring home the 2014 BITD SxS championship. Schueler stayed on the gas and was careful to not let another car get in between him and the leader. Schueler’s plan paid off and he crossed the finish line in the number two spot, clenching him the championship.

The Jagged X Racing / Polaris team came into the Henderson 250 with the points lead and knew they had to run a smart race to maintain their points lead for the championship. Brandon Schueler & Blake Van De Loo did just that crossing the finish in second to bring home the 2014 Best in the Desert UTV Pro Class Championship

“It feels great to have another championship and especially to race against such great people. This is our sixth championship and we couldn’t be happier. It was a great course. We had a blast running the longer laps and the course was awesome, it was definitely a high speed race. I really have to thank Jagged X, Polaris and Walker Evans for helping us to make this happen. We hope we can come back and do this again next year!” said Brandon Schueler.

The number 1931 Polaris of Craig Scanlon was the first off the SxS start and held the lead for a while until #1934 Scott Kiger and #1919 Brandon Schueler got by. Scanlon kept a fast pace and held down the number three spot all the way to the checkered flag to claim the final spot on the Pro SXS podium.

“We are pretty excited to end the season on the podium. Our Polaris ran awesome and it was a really good course. I had the lead off the start and I drove the whole course from start to finish. It was pretty exciting to be able to come out and race in the truck classes, it shows how far we have come in a short time and it is exciting for us,” said Scanlon.
