Best in the Desert BlueWater
Challenge UTV Race Report
::Continued::
LSR’s Dan Fisher recorded a fifth-place finish
after falling ill after the first day’s race and
picking a substitute driver for the second day.
|
Lonestar
Racing's Dan Fisher & Garrick Lastra
combined for a top five overall finish at
the Bluewater Challenge |
ITP / LSR’s Branden Sims finished sixth in a
brand-new Polaris RZR Turbo. The car ran virtually
flawlessly all weekend.
|
ITP's
Branden Sims finished in the 6th overall
& he will test his skills at GNCC Racing
next weekend at Powerline Park in Ohio |
“We had one issue on day one: we ran out of fuel,”
said Sims. “The Turbo ran flawlessly on day two.
The top speed is slower than my other car, but
it gets there much quicker. It definitely makes
a lot of difference on the sand washes and the
hills. I was more than happy with the performance.”
Sims will be back in the drivers seat in just
one more week at the Powerline Park GNCC in Ohio
with him making his debut in the woods in a Bikeman
Performance / Rotation Motorsports Polaris RZR.
.
“I’ve never done it and I’ve never even seen
it,” said Sims. “In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever
raced in the trees. It’s cool when someone gives
you a call and asks you be a part of a big team.”
Lacrecia Beurrier once again claimed the Unlimited
UTV class win. She merely needs to take the start
at the next race to clinch the 2015 BITD Championship.
|
Dragon
Fire Racing’s Lacrecia Beurrier won the
Unlimited UTV Class overall once again by
taking the win both days |
“We came all the way from the back and finished
in the middle of the pack with all of the big
boys, so I’m stoked,” said Beurrier. “We had a
fuel rail break right at the finish on day one,
so we had to walk up on the mesa. Today was flawless.”
The season finale for the Best in the Desert
Series is scheduled for December 5 in Henderson,
NV for the Henderson 250.
