Michael Coburn Claims
the Pro ATV Win & Points Lead
::Continued::
|
#038 Michael Coburn lead the charge once
again in the restart, which had everyone
lined up in single file for the restart
with 12 laps remaining |
Once the carnage was cleared, racers were lined
back up, including Cooke, who was ok, in their positions
and the race was continued. Michael Coburn continued
his lead to cross the finish line first and take
over the Pro points lead by five points. “I’m
pretty excited, but I know there’s still one
more race to go so I am trying to stay focused.
I am only five points ahead so if Harold wins and
I come in second, we will be tied in points, but
since Harold has more wins, he would take the championship,
so I really need to take the win at the final round,”
said Coburn.
KTM’s Chuckie Creech was looking good as
he was in the top five off the line. Creech made
his way through traffic to move into the number
two position. Creech held his spot and was relatively
unchallenged through the whole race, to take second
at the finish line.

easy win & take over the points lead
from Harold Goodman

Chuckie Creech earned his first podium finish
of the season with his new KTM ride as he
claims the 2nd spot on the podium |
|
Trent Powell was able to maintain his composure
as he held onto the 3rd spot with Brad Riley
applying the Pressure, which was a career
first Podium finish for Trent Powell after
a great ride |
In third was Trent Powell, who would enjoy his first-ever
Pro podium position. Powell’s decision to
race this event was a last minute one as he did
not have a quad to race, Luckily, Powell was able
to borrow a Honda 450r and hold off Brad Riley,
who was hot on his heels for the entire race. Despite
his best efforts, Brad Riley would finish in fourth
place behind Powell, while Frank Batista would round
out the top five.
Ryon Partee’s wreck with Cooke earlier
would take him out of the race and Kendall Webb
had issues that would put him in the back of the
pack as well.
Harold Goodman, who got off to a third place
start in the Pro class, ended up getting spun
out early in the race, which sent him to the back
of the pack. Goodman was able to work his way
back to the number six spot before crossing the
finish line, but his spin out cost him his Pro
points lead. “I’m a little bummed
about it, but that’s racing. I’m five
points down now, so I have to win the final round
if I want to take the championship,” said
Goodman.
