Busco Beach, NC (8/27/2014) – Round six of the Extreme Dirt Track ATV racing series headed South to North Carolina for the first time this season, a far contrast from the previous five rounds which were held in New York, Ohio and South Dakota.
The weather was of the extreme nature as well with temps in the high nineties and humidity to match, the racers were feeling a bit hot under-the-collar. There were also numerous rain clouds in the area but luckily for the Busco Beach facility, they only received minimal rainfall.

The Pro main event was rain delayed for about 20 minutes while the highly blue-grooved track soaked up the sprinkles Mother Nature had in store for us. When the Pros headed back to the line, there was one man who had a target on his back for the entire twenty laps - Brad Riley. The target was chased by two other fellow North Carolina racers and the Pro main event podium was a North Carolina sweep as well.

#27 Brad Riley grabbed the Extreme Dirt Track Pro Class Holeshot

Houser Racing / PEP / DASA's Brad Riley, who is the current Pro points leader, proved why he is the man to beat in his home state. Riley came off the line and snagged the holeshot ahead of Michael Coburn, Chuckie Creech and Aaron Medlin. Riley knew Coburn was directly behind him and he poured on the coal around every turn and every straight away trying to get away from the pack. Riley’s speed proved he was no match for the rest of the pack as they all battled behind him, allowing him to slip away up front and go uncontested for the entire twenty lap feature with no stoppages. Riley, by the end of the main, had gained a ten second lead on the rest of the pack, sealing the deal on another main event win for himself and extending his points lead.

“We’ve been working on our starts and have been struggling with them in the past races and over the years and we got this one dialed in for sure! It’s always nice to start out up front and not have to worry about getting hung up behind someone. My PEP suspension and Houser components soaked up the new jumps they installed at Busco and the new off camber, and my DASA engine of course got me off to that holeshot and kept pulling strong the entire main event,” said Riley.

CCR Swaybars / PEP / MAXXIS Tire’s Chuckie Creech was back to his old ways and his old self after spending much of the early part of the season getting his machines dialed in for ultimate accuracy. Creech’s hard work has paid off for himself and his team from Close Encounter’s Whitetail Outfitters proved a point Saturday night by making a lot of moves on the track.
