Morning Ironman ATV Race Report >>

Traci Cecco &
Angel Atwell were extremely focused
and surrounded by their pit crews as
they prepared for the final race of
the season
|
While the morning racers do not get the hoopla
applied to them like their afternoon counterparts,
this round would see all eyes on the battle that
once again came down to the final round in the
Women’s class. There was a score to settle
that had been brewing since the first grains of
sand were sent skyward when the green flag flew
at Round #1. Angel Atwell and Traci Cecco would
be the dueling parties in a season long shoot
out that would have emotions run high and racing
intensity every bit as rivaled in any class ever
run.

Yamaha's
Traci Cecco raced on the edge as she chased
after her 7th Women's GNCC Championship
and finish out the 2008 racing season
with 4 straight wins |

Yamaha presented
Traci Cecco with a custom painted helmet
to commemorate her 7th GNCC Women's
Championship

Neither Traci Cecco nor Atwell would see the
early lead as Cecco wrecked early and would
have to battle through to the front, knowing
that Atwell had to be closing in. Lexie Coulter
would see her name atop the leader board for
two laps as she remained out front, until a
bottleneck would suck her up and allow Cecco
to ride in and overtake the lead position in
the final lap
Cecco, with the lead, would complete the race
with out contest and take her 7th Women’s
class championship! Atwell would finish in the
4th spot as she watched a season of rivalry
slip by her. The battle will be no less fierce
as we look ahead to 2009! For Cecco, it was
business as usual as she graciously accepted
her championship and Yamaha commemorative helmet
in front of her fans and supporters. Congratulations
Traci, job well done!
