Utility Podium
Sweep in the Morning with Bryan Buchannon
leading the charge followed by Scott
Kilby & Robert Smith
|
One last race would complete seasons full of
victory and failures as 228 entries sat readied
to compete. 4x4 Open racer Bryan Buckhannon
would best fellow Can-Am Racer, Scott Kilby
as they finished 1st and 2nd respectively. Kilby’s
finish would mark his best finish of the 2008
season.
Fellow Can Am rider Jerime Dudding would be
setting this round out as he worked the pits
in support due to a broken arm! Dudding wrecked
the week before Ironman, breaking his arm in
two places. We wish him a speedy recovery and
a quick return to his machine dubbed “The
Hot Rod”!”.

Bryan
Buckhannon dominated the morning race
winning the Overall with over 3 minutes
to spare, which was his 12th Win of
the sesaon & 3rd Podium Finish
|
Robert
Smith earned his 3rd straight Win and
1st Podium finish at the Ironman, which
secured him 2nd in Points with Sam Williams
winning the class by one point |
Walker Fowler would have injuries this season
as well, tearing his ankle up at round #2 and
missing a few rounds. Fowlers would return to
competition and be forced to battle hard to
make up ground on those that excelled in his
absence. Coming from behind to finish 2nd, Fowlers
efforts paid off as he grabbed the Schoolboy
13-15 championship!

#723
Walker Fowler made an amazing come back
from injury to win the Schoolboy 13-15
Class Championship, which was his 3rd
straight Youth ATV Championship, but
Walker isn't just fast on an ATV, he
is also an extremely talented bike racer
as well, and he has been racing both
at the GNCC Series for the past three
years, but for 2009, he will need to
pick one since he is turning 16 and
moving up the ranks.

The season is now complete, and many are ready
for the next one to start as soon as possible,
while others will need time to regroup and rearm
for the battles that lay ahead. The final round
is always exciting and fun as spectator activities
run the gamut, from a monster truck show and
UTV race, to factory demo rides. With the season
over, we would like to thank all the racers,
fans and spectators for providing us a spectacular
season of racing and we look forward to 2009
where we should see even more intensity as it
is clear that the competition level is at its
highest level in many years.
Good luck in the off season, we will see you
in 2009!
