Suzuki's
Chris Borich Wraps-Up the GNCC Pro ATV
XC1 Championship with his 6th Straight
Win at the Yadkin Valley Stomp |
Yadkinville, NC - Chris Borich
sat poised on his Rockstar/Makita Suzuki as he
awaited the call to the starting line for what
could be his final race in his quest for the GNCC
XC1 Pro ATV championship. A heavy mist was turning
to rain as Borich headed to the line with excitement
in the air because all Borich had to do was finish
eight points ahead of Taylor Kiser to claim a
career first GNCC Championship and dethrone Yamaha’s
Bill Ballance who has amazingly won the past nine
straight GNCC Championships.
With two hours of intense racing ahead, and
on a track that is known for miles of single
line track, one could not discount the possibility
that this round could easily be just one more
race and we would have to stretch the hunt to
round 12 at the Powerline Park GNCC. With loads
of talent seated beside Borich on the front
row, it would be anyone’s game if they
could get out front and keep Borich at bay..
As the “10 Seconds” call bellowed,
all questions were about to be answered.

Yamaha's
#1 Bill Ballance grabbed the Holeshot
with the newly released 2010 Yamaha YFZ450X
Bill Ballance Edition ATV followed by
KTM's Adam McGill |
Bill Ballance would quickly put his Yamaha
out front as the 9 time GNCC Pro ATV Champion
worked his YFZ450X through the first few turns.
Behind him, the remainder of the pro ATV class
battled fiercely as they knew getting into the
woods in a good position was paramount if they
wanted a chance at the podium. For Chris Borich,
it was a mid pack start as he raced into the
woods now growing with the sound of the Pro
class doing battle in the trees.

As Chris Borich made the turn for the
checkered flag, his family was waiting
trackside to congratulate him with his
mom (Mary Ellen) & girlfriend (Dawn)
cheering from the sidelines, while Chris'
Dad, Joe, ran out on the track to give
him a high five |
