Super Senior 50+ was shaping up to be one of
the most intense classes of the season as Glen
Pritchard was off to a winning start securing
class wins at the opening two rounds. At round
three, Dave Simmons would be eligible to enter
this class and the fight would be on. Pritchard
and Simmons would battle at round three going
1-2 as Simmons secured his first win in the
class and the morning overall.

ITP
Tire's Dave Simmons has dominated not
only the Super Senior Class, but also
the Morning races with 4 overall wins
as he chases at the #201 plate for 2011 |
Glenn Pritchard kicked off the season
with 2 wins in the Super Senior Class,
but a wreck at Round 4, Big Buck, has
sidelined Pritchard from racing |
At round four, tragedy would strike as Pritchard
was involved in a horrendous crash that left him
broken and beaten and in the hospital. With multiple
injuries that would have him sidelined regardless,
the Pritchard family would face news that had
Glenn fighting for his life as he was diagnosed
with stage 4 lung cancer. It is amazing to think
that Pritchard was so competitive and so strong
that he could have had such a debilitating disease
strike him. Always the fighter, Pritchard is doing
well and at the time of this writing winning the
most important race of his life. Truly an outstanding
example of a true competitor, Pritchard was trackside
to cheer on his fellow racers at the Snowshoe
round which is close to their home. For Simmons,
the track was wide open as he rampaged the morning
overall by taking four straight overall podium
finishes as well as his class victories.

Braden
Henthorn wrapped up the Schoolboy A/B
class Championship with 7 wins &
a 2nd place finish at Snowshoe
|
Schoolboy racer Braden Henthorn was out to show
his skills early as he started racking up wins
in the Schoolboy 13-15 A/B class from round one,
winning the first six rounds. A broken chain would
hand him a DNF however he was back with another
win the following round. What is remarkable is
Henthorn's ability to claw through the myriad
of classes ahead of him and finish well in the
overall standings, very reminiscent of Walker
Fowler. Braden is one to keep an eye on as he
shows no signs of letting up as he has secured
his class championship.

Jay
Shadron rips off of the pavement at
the Snowshoe Ski resort. Shadron is
seated to claim Schoolboy class championship
if he keeps up his winning ways for
the rest of the year, and Kevin McKeown
is the only one that could steal away
his thunder
|
In Schoolboy Novice, the battle is on as Jay Shadron
and Kevin Mckeown run for the points lead and
are separated by only three points. There is plenty
of racing remaining for Mckeown to snatch wins
from Shadron but that will be a tall task! If
Shadron can keep mechanical issues at bay this
battle will a close one and may find it being
settled at the last round making every win count.
Women's Novice has been dominated by one name
this season, and that would be Cheyanne Shadron.
Posting eight straight wins and securing the
class championship now has Shadron making the
move to the Women's class as she joins the ranks
of the fastest ladies on the planet. Shadron
did well in her debut appearance in this class
as she capitalized on the issues of the big
names to take a remarkable second place finish!
The racing has been great this season and the
second half looks to be intense in several classes
as the riders sort out who will be crowned champion
at seasons end. The training and testing will
pay off for many as they rise to the top as
others are forced to keep improving or find
lady luck when they need her the most! Racing
will resume in September as the series heads
to the Unadilla Sports complex.
