Tire's Jarrod McClure grabbed the Pro
XC1 ATV Holeshot by edging out Yamaha's
#2 Taylor Kiser |

National
Guard's Jarrod McClure battled his way
to a Podium finish at the Steele Creek
GNCC |
National Guard/Yokely Racing’s Jarrod McClure
took the final position on the afternoon podium.
McClure, who had his more than fair share of bad
luck last season has stepped it up for 2011, and
it showed as he grabbed the Holeshot and held
the third spot by the end of the lap.
McClure did fall back to sixth place, but worked
back up to fourth where he crossed the finish
line. However, Taylor Kiser physically finished
in the third spot, but his finish was protested,
and it was determined he had gone of-course beyond
the allowable distance after review, which resulted
in a one position penalty for Kiser, that gave
McClure the number three spot. McClure is currently
enjoying a top five position in points as well.

Yamaha/Ballance Racing’s Taylor Kiser
was looking consistent as usual and had charged
his way into the number three spot before crossing
the finish line, but the resulting protest dropped
him back to a fourth place finish Despite the
penalty, Kiser is still in a solid fourth in
pro points with 61 points, nine points ahead
of number five ranked McClure.

Ballance
Racing's Taylor Kiser was in the hunt
all day with the lead pack of six (Bithell,
Borich, McGill, Kiser, Wolfe & McClure)
running within 15 seconds of each other
heading into the final lap of the race,
which made for some exciting racing action |
Finishing in fifth place was none other than
current champ, Chris Borich. Borich was looking
good early in the race and looked as if he would
be going for one of his trademark come from
behind wins, but that would not be the case
for this round.

|
#1 Chris Borich's win streak was stopped
at nine races. After Borich made his normal
charge to the lead in the final lap, he
experienced a rare mechanical issue, which
forced him to surrender his lead and cruise
to the finish. An obviously disappointed
Borich crossed the finish line in the
5th spot, which allowed Bithell to close
to within 5 points of Borich in the points
lead |
Borich was charging hard and had moved into
lead on the final lap by overtaking Chris Bithell,
but Borich’s lead was short lived when
his Suzuki began to bog and sputter. Wanting
to retain as many points as possible, Borich
opted to back off in order to finish the race
instead of pushing it and risk a complete mechanical
failure. Borich would end his day rounding out
the top five, but still maintains a 5 point
lead over Bithell with 76 points.
