Wolf stayed close to McGill with the pair swapping
the lead several times, but in the final lap
of the race, McGill had a close encounter with
a tree, which spun McGill around, and allowed
Wolf to take over the lead in the final few
miles of the race.Wolf put the hammer down and
despite pressure from McGill, Wolf stayed out
front to take his second Pro and overall win
of the season.

“I’m pretty excited because last
year I was leading and broke a shock, so I feel
kind of vindicated in taking this win,”
said Wolf.

Insurance's #3 Adam McGill quickly charged
his way into the lead in lap one with
McGill leading the charge for the majority
of the Mountain Ridge GNCC race, but he
wasn't alone with Brian Wolf, Chris Borich,
Chris Bithell & Taylor Kiser all in
chase as top 5 pulled nearly a 2 minute
gap on 6th place |
Can-Am/Warnert Racing’s Adam McGill grabbed
the lead about three quarters into the first
lap. “I went out there and took control
and set the pace,” said McGill. Brian
Wolf and Chris Borich were close behind waiting
for McGill to make a mistake. McGill was looking
good, but fell back to second in the third lap
after a close encounter with a tree caused him
to spin out. McGill tried to remount a charge,
but was unable to take back the lead and would
finish in the number two spot, allowing him
to gain a few points on Chris Borich.

Can-Am's
#3 Adam McGill held the lead at the 7
mile mark on the final lap with the top
five all within a few seconds of each
other, but McGill would lose the lead
when he got spun out on a tree within
a few miles of the finish, which allowed
Wolf to take the win, but McGill held
on to secure his 7th Podium finish of
the season & McGill gained a couple
of points on the Pro class leader, #1

“I was able to make up some valuable
points, but for me the final three rounds are
going to be checkers or wreckers,” said
McGill, who is determined to dethrone Borich.
Can-Am/Warnert Racing’s Chris Bithell
was in fourth, but was under pressure from Taylor
Kiser for most of the first lap. Bithell would
eventually fall back to fifth. Bithell did not
give up however and was able to charge his way
into the number three spot and join his teammate
McGill on the Pro podium.
