Buckhannon tied with Michael Swift for
the 4x4 Open Championship but it came
down to one more win for Buckhannon that
gave him the championship |
In the morning classes, the 4x4 Open Championship
came down to the wire between Bryan Buckhannon
and Michael Swift. Swift had the points advantage
going into the final round and was determined
to keep his championship status, but Buckhannon
wasn’t going to go down without a fight.
It was Buckhannon’s lucky day as Swift would
encounter mechanical issues in the second lap,
allowing Buckhannon to walk away with the 2011
4x4 Open championship.
“I’m really excited to win the
championship this year. It was done with a lot
of help from family and friends and that really
meant a lot to me. I have to thank Can-Am and
all of my sponsors for all of their support.
This was a great season for me and it was a
lot of fun. There was some really good competition
between me and Michael Swift and Zac Zakowski
and it was always good racing. I will be back
on Can-Am again next season and I will also
be doing a little bit of Side-by-Side racing
as well, so I am looking forward to it,”
said Buckhannon.
