Hurricane Mills, TN (11/5/2011)
– Suzuki’s Chris Borich may have wrapped
up the 2011 Pro GNCC Championship at the Ironman
but he was determined to end his season on a high
note at Loretta Lynn’s.
After heavy rains and flooding caused the postponement
of the Loretta Lynn’s round this spring,
racers were treated to mild temperatures and
clear skies, except for a little morning fog
that was quick to burn off.

Yamaha
/ Ballance Racing's Bill Ballance returned
to race the final round of the 2011
GNCC ATV Racing season in style by taking
the XC1 Pro Class Holeshot!
|
Reigning champ, Chris Borich was employing
his usual tactics as he was in a solid third
going into the woods behind Kiser and Bithell.
Borich did fall back to fourth in the second
lap, but still looked strong and confident and
appeared to be waiting for the right time to
make his move for the lead. In the fourth lap,
with one lap to go, Chris Borich began to work
his way forward and took over the number two
spot behind Taylor Kiser. In true fashion, in
the final lap, Chris Borich took over the lead
and took the checkered flag for the win at the
final round of the 2011 GNCC series.

Adam
Mcgill placed second overall in the XC1
Pro Class Points aboard his Can-Am DS450
Sport ATV |
Can-Am/Warnert Racing’s Adam McGill was in
the top five going into the first lap after a
slow start, but McGill, who has been a consistent
figure in the top three this season, soon began
to work his way forward and took over the number
three spot. McGill stayed close as he followed
Bithell and Kiser for two laps. McGill then fell
back to fifth, however, after Chris Borich made
the pass on him in lap four. McGill was not content
to end his season in just the top five and made
a hard charge in the final lap of the race and
took over second place before reaching the checkered
flag. McGill’s speed and consistency this
season earned him a solid second in the pro points
chase and also had him as the only racer in a
position to challenge Borich in points this season.
“It was a great race. We were all really
close in the last lap and I was able to get around
and get into second. It felt good to end the season
strong and on the podium. It has been a really
good season for me and I am already excited for
next season,” stated McGill.
