Traci Cecco continues to be a dominate force in
the Morning claiming her third-straight Overall
Win and fourth Women's Class win in as many races |
In the Morning race we saw an awesome race for the
overall finish that came right down to the wire. Traci
Cecco from factory Yamaha took the overall only two
seconds of U2 class winner Michael Benson. The third
place went to Marcus Gonzalez who came in only eight
seconds behind Benson. Traci Cecco managed to win the
overall and the Women’s class for the day. Angel
Atwell ran a great race to take the number spot ahead
of third place finisher Jennifer Albright. Former class
winner Stephanie Parton had transmission issues and
never really came off the gate. Stephanie has had some
issues with the 2007 Polaris this season and is looking
to get them straightened out before the next round at
Loretta Lynns.

Angel Atwell had her best race of the year with
a 4th Overall as she begins to feel comfortable
on her new Honda |

Michael Benson & #422 Marcus Gonzalez ran
within 11 seconds of each other the entire race |
As mentioned earlier Michael Benson took the class
win for the U2 division with Marcus Gonzalez in close
tow. Michael Shelley landed the third position for the
day. The real story in this class was the crash that
resulted in injury for former Champion Broc Parker.
Broc has apparently re-injured his shoulders and time
will tell what his ability will be racing again this
2007 season.

Rick Cecco suffered his 3rd DNF of the season
after the early lead over Scott Kilby |
Possibly one of the best races within the morning race
was in the 50+ Super Senior class. Mike Ockerman kept
the lead for the first two laps ahead of John Gallagher
on his Polaris. John did sneak his way into the lead
and cross the line only two seconds ahead of Ockerman.
Ken Vickerd ended up in the third spot for the day in
this class.
In the utility classes many of the riders pride themselves
on their new high tech 4x4 quads to get them into the
lead. In the 4x4 Lites class David Reese put his 1997
Honda Foreman around turn one to take the holeshot and
run in the lead for a while. Reese does have a class
win already this year but this week he could not fend
off Clifton Beasley of the Can-AM team for all four
laps. Beasley ran down Reese on the final lap to rake
the win. Jarime Dudding also managed to work his way
from fourth into the number two spot ahead of Reese
who finished in third. In the 4x4 Limited class Can-AM
rider ran the Big Buck in the lead all four laps. Kevin
Trantham made a charge and moved up from fourth into
the second place at the wire. Multi-time National Champion
Mike Penland came in the third position. Trantham missed
the season opener in Florida and is making a charge
for the number spot in season points that is currently
held by Mike Penland. Scott Kilby rode his Can-AM to
the victory in the 4x4 Open class for yet another week
while Bryan Buckhannon came in second and Jamie Bougher
rounded out the top three. Rick Cecco had early race
issues and had to visit the pits to replace some parts.
When he returned to the track he was on the move. Cecco’s
fastest lap time was only 10 seconds off of the pace
that was turned by Kilby.

Scott Kilby wins his 3rd Straight Race, but he
will miss the next two GNCC rounds to compete
at the WPSA |
#209
Michael Swift remains undefeated in 2007 in the
new 4x4 Limited Class on the Can-Am Outlander |
Walker Fowler had another great day in the in the Youth
Production (12-15) class and took yet another win. Walker
had to come back hard after a lack luster start and
earn his win this week. Dusty conditions from the last
line of the race sure don’t make things easy and
Walkers dirt filled eyes at the end of the race told
the real story. Brandon Bos held on and raced into the
second place finish ahead of third place finisher Stephen
McCulloch.
