#820
Jesi Stracham jumped out to the early lead followed
by #13 Michael Ferraro with #823 Dylan Bradford
getting out of shape in the background heading
into the woods |
The early morning mini-quad racers had a chance to
get out and run and see what the South Carolina woods
had in store for them. In the feature class of the 90
Mod (11-15) Dylan Bradford crossed the line in the number
one spot after an early race battle with second place
finisher Sam Parr. Third Place went to a hard charging
Kyle Riley. All three of the podium finishers were riding
aboard Cobra quads. Seth Mumford also aboard a Cobra
quad and early season possible champion did not quite
have the same luck aboard his Cobra. Seth and his Cobra
are still trying to find the right chemistry to finish
a strong race this season. Jesi Stracham got the holeshot
for the class but somehow destroyed a part in the electrical
system and did not finish the first lap. When Jesi has
quad troubles it seems to be the only way to keep her
off the podium.

#90
Travis Pettit was able to avoid the chaos heading
into the woods and hold off #26 Ryan Earley for
the 90 Limited (8-10) Win |
#21
Derec Robinson moves up the ranks in the 90 Modified
(8-10) class with a 2nd place finish behind points
leader #19 Jay Shadron |
90 limited (11-15) racers had another tight race. On
the final lap Cheyanne Shadron took the lead over Hunter
Kilby during his pit stop and never looked back taking
the checkers for the win. Dusty Wright was the third
place finisher for the day. In some other tight mini
action Travis Pettit won the 90 Limited (8-10) by a
mere three seconds over the number finisher Ryan Early.
And finally in the 70 CVT (6-11) Charlie Welch snuck
across the line only five seconds ahead of Brayden Shick.
One thing that can win or lose races on the course
is consistency. You either are, or you aren’t.
You may not have to have the fastest time, but it helps.
But many times the rider with the most consistent times
wins over the course of the race. In this race one racer
in particular couldn’t have done any better in
this respect if he had computers. All Four laps that
Scott Kilby turned were within 4 seconds of each other.
I have seen where two, maybe three laps the rider comes
close to the same times, but all four, only four seconds
apart. WOW! Perhaps that could be one of the reasons
Scott did win his class for the day. Scott is also in
the points lead in the 4x4 Open class for the season.
Keep up the training and we’ll see you at Loretta’s.
