Motoworks Jeremie Warnia
Edges Claims Both Pro Wins at Glen Helen
Pro & Open Pro ATV Race Report
|
Yamaha's #97 Justin Noss was once again
back on the Podium with a 3rd Overall finish
at Glen Helen |
As Warnia and Nelson were locked into battle, Justin
Noss, who took his first overall pro win at round
five, was looking good as well. Noss was second
off the line in the first moto, but fell to third
when Warnia went for the pass early off the start.
Noss kept pace with Warnia and Nelson for several
laps before settling into a comfortable third place,
where he would stay all the way to the checkers.
Moto two was a little interesting for Noss as
he was working through traffic. Noss came upon
Dustin Terry and Jason Dunkleberger going into
a tight turn and got around both of them, but
Noss and Dunkleberger would connect in the next
lap, which would send Noss to the back of the
pack. Noss worked hard and soon found his way
into sixth place, and as luck would have it, he
would move up to fourth when Sage Baker and Dunk
would get tangled up in the last lap. Noss’s
3-4 gave him the final spot on the podium.
Jason Dunkleberger’s hard charge in both
motos would give him the number four spot overall
while Dustin Terry would find himself rounding
out the top five. Evan Spooner would hang on for
a sixth place finish and Sage Baker would claim
the seventh spot overall despite mechanical difficulties
in the second moto. Jason Fife’s 6-9 landed
him in the number eight spot while Hunter Miller
would go 10-6 for ninth and Dean Pierce’s
8-8 landed him in the number ten spot of the Pro
Production class.

Suzuki's AMA ATV Motocross Team Manager,
Kory Ellis, came out of retirement again
for some fun at Glen Helen & he may
not have been training, but it didn't show
on the track at Ellis secured the Moto 1
Win & finished an impressive 2nd Overall
behind Warnia |
In the Open Pro class, Jeremie Warnia once again
was victorious, but not without a tough battle
from none other than former ITP Quadcross champ,
Kory Ellis. “It was kind of a last minute
decision for me to race. I just wanted to come
out here and have some fun and that’s what
I did,” said Ellis, who despite his impressive
1-2 finishes, states he has not been racing or
training. “I’ve been really busy so
I haven’t had much time to ride and I haven’t
been training. This race was close to home and
I had some time off, so I came out,” he
said. Ellis does not plan on getting back to racing
on a regular basis, but says he may be spotted
on the track from time to time when his schedule
allows for it.
While Ellis put on a strong showing, Jeremie Warnia
would come out on top with a 2-1 finish, which
was good enough to finish ahead of Ellis for the
overall.
While Warnia and Ellis were busy battling it
out, Jason Dunkleberger was riding strong to take
consistent 3-3 finishes to end his day in third
overall. Keith Tebeau would take solid 4-5 finishes
to claim fourth overall and Dennis Capogni’s
5-6 had him rounding out the top five of the Open
Pro class.
