Pro ATV Race Report
In the Pro Class, it was Suzuki’s Dustin Wimmer
that walked away with both holeshots and the win
for the day. “The track was changed quite
a bit from the last time I was out there. It was
pretty mellow, but fun.” Said Wimmer. The
track was actually a bit on the muddy side due to
rain the night before which caused Kawasaki’s
Josh Creamer to come out of the hole in mid pack
in the first moto. “I spun a lot off the line
for the first moto and had to work my way up through
several riders, but during the second moto, I was
right behind Dustin Wimmer. He barely edged me out
in the first turn.” Stated Josh. Creamer’s
solid 2-2 finish allowed him to take 2nd overall
for the day.

Yamaha’s Dustin Nelson didn’t fare quite
as well as Creamer and Wimmer during the first moto.
“I was running in 3rd place and crashed pretty
hard. I managed to work my way up from last to 9th
place.” Luckily, Nelson was not seriously
injured aside from scrapes, bruises and being a
little sore. Nelson got a mid pack start in the
2nd moto and managed to work his way up to a 4th
place finish which gave him a 6th place overall
for the day. In the points race it was Jeremy Schell
who took second, John Shafe grabbed third and Justin
Noss and Landon Hurst went home with 4th and 5th
in the points battle.

Justin Noss once again just missed the Podium
with a 4th Place finish, and he finished
4th in the points as well |
Kory Ellis, who basically already had the championship
in the bag, came out with a 3-5 finish sealing
the deal on his 2nd ITP Quadcross Pro Championship.
“I’m really excited about winning.”
Said Kory. “When I started the year, I was
in the best shape I have ever been in and I knew
if I came out here and raced that there was a
good chance I would get the championship this
year.” Ellis also announced that he will
not be racing regularly next season, but will
be a regular at events as the new team manager
for the Yoshimura/Suzuki team. “I’ll
miss racing, but for me it’s more about
the people at the races than anything. I like
working with the team and the riders…it’s
not like I’m missing the races because I
am right there with the team cheering them on.”
Kory concluded.
Kory will be returning to the track as a racer
one last time this year. He will be participating
in the 6 Hour GP race at Glen Helen on December
9th along with his teammate Dustin Wimmer.
