Traxxas RC Car Race
& Quadcross ATV Awards Banquet
|
Each
Pro ATV Racer was assigned a new Traxxas
Revo 3.3 car, which they got to keep after
the race |

Dustn Nelson claimed the $500 Quad Magazine
Check for winning the race |
In between the Pro Motos, the crew from Traxxas
RC cars & Quad Magazine put on a race of their
own. They handed out Revo 3.3 gas powered RC cars
to all the pros who had a blast trying to negotiate
the course. Dustin Nelson, who has had some experience
with RC cars, won the overall race, while Josh Creamer
did well in the heat race, but ran into problems
during the main event. “I don’t know
what happened. I lost my composure and ended up
blowing up the car.” Creamer said. “It
was cool though, the Traxxas guys fixed the car
for me before I left.” All of the racers got
to keep the cars that were given to them. “It
was fun, I may get more into them now that I have
one.” Creamer concluded.

For
a birds-eye view of the track, the pros
stood in a bed of a truck with Baker, Wimmer,
Nelson, and Creamer making it to the final
round. |
The
Traxxas Revo 3.3 Trucks were blasting around
the track and launching some huge doubles,
but there was plenty of carnage with the
novice pilots behind the wheel |
When all the racing was finished on the day,
the year end awards banquet was held with all
the top finishers receiving plaques and contingency
prizes. There was a huge crowd people that stuck
around for the awards ceremony, and many of them
were waiting for the big drawing at the end of
the day for the Yamaha YFZ450.
Every time a racer participates in a Quadcross
event, his/her name is entered in the year’s
end drawing for the YFZ450, which gives anyone
that has raced the series an opportunity to win
a new quad. The only catch however, is that you
must be in attendance to win as Jeremy Schell
and Josh Frederick found out the hard way. The
first name to be draw was Schell’s, but
he was already in route to the airport. The second
name was Frederick’s who was also nowhere
to be found so as fate would have it, Mary Roache
was the winner and Justin Roache became the lucky
new owner of the quad.
Roache, who hails from Long Beach, CA and has
been a loyal participant in the Yamaha / ITP Quadcross
series all year, was actually too young to receive
the award, so his mom was technically awarded
the big prize. ATVriders.com would also like to
congratulate Justin as he consistently placed
in the top 10 throughout the season and earned
himself a respectable 4th place overall in his
class.
The first race of the ITP Quadcross series will
kick off March 8-9 at Glen Helen Raceway and will
also be the first race of the ATVA MX Pro National
Series.
