“I haven’t ridden my quad all winter because
we’ve been working on the car and racing that.
We got rained out Friday and Saturday night
so I came out here, and I knew the mud would
be an equalizer for the quad guys, so we just
gave it our best shot. I had a horrible start,
but just put my head down and worked my way
back up. I put the pass on Nichols right here
at the end for second place. It was a lot
of fun to get back out here with the guys
and race again,” said Humphrey.
Derisi Racing / Custom Axis / MAXXIS Tire’s
Braden Nichols came off the line in third
place behind Lindle and Gourley who snagged
the holeshot. Nichols made up for one of those
spots immediately after the field section
by making the pass on Lindle before heading
into the woods. Nichols ran a clean race the
remainder of the two hour battle, but he got
passed at the very last moment by Humphrey.
Nichols, who ran the first round and took
second place there, is now, by default, sitting
in first place overall in the points chase.
He is the only Pro quad to run both rounds
so far, and has ended up on the podium each
time.

“The course was really smooth flowing and
not super technical which made for some fast-paced
racing and was a lot of fun. I’m sitting in
first now it sounds like and that’s really
exciting. I’ll be doing all of the rounds
of this series, and I am looking forward to
the rest of the season,” said Nichols.
