Michael Pilotte lead the charge for several
laps in Moto One with #46 Richard Pelchat
& #75 Joe Haavisto swapping positions
several times through out the race, which
made for some exciting race action |
Michael Pilotte, who is only in his third year
of racing, put up an awesome fight as he grabbed
the holeshot in the first Open Pro moto. Pilotte
held his lead for all but two laps when Joe Haavisto
and Richard Pelchat were able to slip past him.
Pilotte finished the first moto in third.
In the second moto, Pilotte once again rounded
out the top three at the checkered flag. His solid
performance earned him second overall and showed
he is definitely a contender for the championship
this season and will only be improving on his
performance. “This race was the first time
I have even got a chance to ride my race bike,
so I am pretty happy with my finishes,”
said Pilotte, who hopes to get even faster as
he gets adjusted to his new quad. “There’s
a lot more competition this year and I’m
excited about that, but also a little nervous
because I really want to do well this season.
DRT Motorsports has done an excellent job on my
bike and I’d really like to do a good job
for them,” he concluded.

Nate Morello made an impressive debut
on his new KTM by grabbing the Moto 2
Holeshot & holding the lead for several
laps before finishing in 2nd Place for
a 3rd Overall |
KTM North America’s Nate Morello seemed
to be adjusting well to his new KTM 450SX rride.
In Moto one however, Morello got squeezed out
on the start by Roco Arno, Jr. and Myles Santaniello,
which sent him back to 15th place off the line.
Morello knew he had his work cut out for him
and made his charge through traffic. “It
was a lot of work, but I managed to make it
up to 5th place before crossing the finish line,”
said Morello.
In moto two, things went much better for him
as he grabbed the Holeshot with Baldwin powered
KTM, and finished in the second spot behind
Joe Haavisto. Morello’s 5-2 placing was
enough to secure him the final spot on the Pro
podium.
