Joe Haavisto went undfeated at MX 338
by sweeping the Open Pro-Am Class to extend
his points lead to 65 points over Michael
Pilotte in 2nd |
The Open Pro-am class had just as much excitement
as the Open Pro class, with Joe Haavisto once
again taking the first moto win, but not without
a fight. Haavisto was in the top five off the
start, working into the number two position by
the second corner, and began applying the pressure
to Nate Morello shortly into the first lap. Haavisto
waited for an opportunity and took the lead away,
leaving Morello in second. Haavisto rode the rest
of the moto unchallenged, crossing the finish
line in first place.
Josh Creamer was in the back of the pack off
the start and had his work cut out for him as
he charged through traffic. Creamer by lap five,
Creamer had made is ay into third and was catching
up to Morello. Morello was standing his ground
and giving the number 9 Kawasaki a good fight,
but half way into the last lap, Morello caught
rut and got spun out, allowing Creamer to steal
the number two spot and leave Morello to finish
in seventh.

Jason Connell & #9 Josh Creamer |
Jason Connell, who had been riding very consistently
in moto one, crossed the finish line in third,
and Aaron Meyer took the number four spot. Rocco
Arno had better luck in the first Pro-am moto,
to round out the top five.
The second Pro-am moto went much the same as
the first off the start as Morello grabbed his
third holeshot of the day, but it was Haavisto
who would dominate to take the moto two win
and the overall.
Josh Creamer once again charged his way through
traffic and claimed the number two spot. Creamer’s
efforts earned him second overall for the Open
Pro-am class and Aaron Meyer found himself taking
a 4-4 finish, which was good enough to land
him in the third spot on the Pro-am podium.

Aaron Meyer was able to hold off #101
Rocco Arno in both Motos to secure yet
another Podium finish with 3rd overall
in the Open Pro-Am class |
Jason Connell’s 3-6 gave him the number
four spot over all and Rocco Arno’s 5-5
left little doubt who would be rounding out the
top five.
Vincent Mofford rode an amazing second moto
in the Pro-am class, finishing in third, but
his 6th place finish in moto one would have
him in sixth place overall, Max Anderson ended
his day in seventh overall, with Jeff Bradway
in eighth.
Nate Morello’s radiator swap that was
made just before Pro-am moto two unfortunately
didn’t help him much. “The radiator
we put in was one that was damaged at the Walden
round. It had been repaired but the repair didn’t
hold, so I ended up having to push my bike across
the finish line,” said Morello, who plans
to be back on the podium at round five. But
before he heads to round five of the NEATVMX
series, KTM’s Nate Morello will be in
attendance with Nac’s Racing to sign autographs
and shoot the breeze at round number seven of
the AMA ATV Motocross Championship series at
Unadilla on June 14th. “Everyone should
feel free to stop by and say hello,” said
Morello.
NEATVMX racers will get a four week break before
they head into round number five, which will
be held on June 28th. Capeway Rover’s
Motocross in Middleboro, MA will be the hosting
facility for the event, where Joe Haavisto will
try for another Pro and Pro-am victory as he
defends his 2008 titles.
