NEATV-MX - New England ATV Motocross Series

NEATV-MX Open Pro & Pro-Am ATV Race Report
Kawasaki's Joe Haavisto Wins Again, Myles Santaniello & Aaron Meyer Podium

Southwick, MA - Kawasaki Monster Energy’s Joe Haavisto once again scores a double Open Pro and Open Pro-am win at round four of the New England ATV Motocross series while the power robbing sand of Southwick took it’s toll on many bikes over the weekend.

Rain showers over the past week helped keep any dust to a minimum, but nothing could keep the sandy soil from becoming rough and developing huge ruts throughout the day but that did not stop Joe Haavisto from kicking it into high gear.

Nate Morello - KTM 450SX ATV
#111 Nate Morello continues to dominate the field to the 1st turn with his Baldwin Motorsports powered KTM 505SX as he claimed 3 out of the 4 Pro & Pro-Am Holeshots

In the first Open Pro moto, Haavisto would have to play catch up to KTM’s Nate Morello, who grabbed three of four Pro and Pro-am ATV Holeshots. Although third off the line, Haavisto was able to make his way around Morello and took over second place in lap seven. Shortly after that, Haavisto was able to capitalize on Josh Creamer’s misfortune when the sand proved to be too much for Creamer’s race quad and his engine let go, leaving him stranded trackside.

Nate Morello, who has had incredible starts so far this season, grabbed the holeshot with Kawasaki Monster Energy’s Josh Creamer and Joe Haavisto hot on his heels. Morello kept his lead and held the pair at bay for six laps before Creamer made his move to take over the lead, with Morello making the pass in lap seven. Morello would eventually cross the finish line in second place thanks to Creamer’s engine failure.

Myles Santaniello was looking good and strong as he made his way around the sandy track in a hated battle with Rocco Arno, Jr. Santaniello would eventually get the upper hand and take third place as Arno’s motor would also let go in the brutal sand.

Aaron Meyer was off to a good start in the top five and would claim the number four spot before crossing the finish line with Jason Connell rounding out the top five.

Can-Am’s Matt Pomeroy would end his day pushing his bike across the finish line, as the sand proved to be too much, while Michael Pilotte, who was in a points battle for the lead with Haavisto, would suffer the same fate.
