KTM
/ Baldwin's Nate Morello grabbed the Moto
One Open Pro-Am Holeshot |
In the Open Pro-am ATV class, KTM’s Nate
Morello would grab the moto one holeshot with
a string of riders right behind him including
Ralle Rookey, Joe Haavisto, and Jason Connell.
Morello would eventually be able to distance himself
from the rest of the pack and sail to a comfortable
Pro-am moto one win. Polaris Mounted Aaron Meyer
put in a good charge to take the number two spot
in the first moto, while Jason Connell held on
strong despite pressure from Pilotte, to finish
in third.
Joe Haavisto ran into trouble early in the
first Pro-am moto, as he was rear ended off
the start. “I got rear ended and that
broke off my rear shock rezzie, so I went from
like 2nd place down to 15th,” said a disappointed
Haavisto.

Nate
Morello finished back in 5th place in
Moto 2, but it was enough to secure the
Pro-Am Overall Win |
In the second Pro-am moto, things would go
quite differently for Haavisto as he would take
the holeshot and never looked back. The number
75 Kawasaki checked out and finished several
seconds over the rest of the pack. Unfortunately,
Haavisto’s 15th place finish in the first
Pro-am moto did affect his results only giving
him 8th overall.
Nate Morello, who took second in the Pro-am moto
two holeshot behind his cousin, Haavisto, would
fade back to take a 5th place finish in the second
moto, but his first Pro-am moto win would put
him in first place overall. Jasmin Plante put
in a strong second moto, taking second place behind
Morello, which would put him in second place overall
in the Pro-am class. Michael Pilotte would put
in consistent 4-3 finishes to take third overall.
