Middleboro, MA – Pro class rider Myles Santaniello took his first Pro ATV Moto win of his racing career at round seven of the New England ATV Motocross Series, but it was DRT Racing’s Michael Pilotte who would take the overall Open Pro ATV win for the day.

The first Open Pro moto got off to a bit of a rocky start as a first turn pile up involved several riders including Kawasaki Monster Energy’s Joe Haavisto, but as luck would have it, Myles Santaniello was able to pull ahead of the carnage and grabbed the moto one holeshot.

Santaniello ran a solid moto, leading from start to finish, even when Michael Pilotte was gaining ground on him in the final laps. “It felt really great to take my first moto win,” said Santaniello.

Michael Pilotte came off the line in fourth and had his work cut out for him as he began working his way through traffic to take a respectable second place, but the best charge of the day came from Kawasaki’s Joe Haavisto. Haavisto got caught up with Jason Connell off the start and was in last place going into the first lap. Haavisto put his head down and made an incredible charge to work his way to the number three spot before crossing the finish line. “It was pretty tough out there. After Jason and I hooked up I was dead last, but I just put my head down and kept moving forward. I caught up to Arno who was in third and we battled a little bit before I was able to get around him and make it stick,” said Haavisto, who hung on for a third place finish.
