Lyman, ME - Kawasaki Monster
Energy’s Josh Creamer Showed up to race
at round nine of the New England ATV Motocross
series and edged out fellow Kawasaki rider Joe
Haavisto to claim four moto wins and the overall
in both the Open Pro and Open Pro-am classes.
Thunderstorms, spurred from the remnants of
Hurricane Bill, were forecast for the area,
but held off for the most part except for a
few showers in the morning. Despite the rain,
the track conditions were good and there was
plenty of traction to be had, which made for
an interesting start in the first Open Pro moto.

Josh Creamer held the early lead heading
into turn one, but #75 Joe Haavisto moved
on Creamer heading out of the turn with
the pair nearly side by side |

#75
Joe Haavisto would claim the early front
spot over Josh Creamer |
As racers came off the line, Josh Creamer and
Joe Haavisto were side by side going into the
first corner. They were so close in the holeshot
that race officials decided that it was a tie
for the holeshot. In second corner, Haavisto
manager to get in front of Creamer and led for
three laps before Creamer took an inside line
in a corner and slid underneath Haavisto to
take over the lead.
Once in the lead the number 9 Kawasaki began
to pull away to a comfortable lead where he
stayed all the way to the checkered flag while
Haavisto hung on to claim a respectable second
place. “It was really close going into
the first turn. Josh and I were so close that
they decided it was a tie for the holeshot,”
said Haavisto.

In
Moto 2, #9 Josh Creamer once again got
out front early, but this time it was
clear who grabbed the Holeshot with Creamer
holding the lead from start to finish |
Pro Moto two was a different story for the
pair of Kawasaki’s. Creamer would end
up with the holeshot and check out on the rest
of the pack. “I’ll probably be racing
the rest of the series. It’s good practice
for me during the off season and it’s
a lot of fun,” said Josh Creamer, who
took an easy victory.
