The second round of the RMURA racing series was
held at CORE located just about an hour east of
Denver. Heavy rain moved in during the week, which
cancelled practiced on Friday, but the sun came
out and the track came around by Saturday morning,
which made for near perfect SxS / ATV racing condtions
over the modified five mile course layout carved
out of the 20-mile circuit known for its desert,
motocross and technical sections.

a couple laps

After chasing after the leader several laps,
Hughes inherited the lead when the leader pitted
for fuel. “I just went out, had fun, and we were
cruising. I just stayed with him, he pulled off
and I took the lead. It was a great race. I had
a lot of fun,” said Hughes.
“It was a good track,” added Hughes. “There was
a little bit of everything: short track, motocross
and desert. I’m looking forward to racing in the
next round closer to home in Grand Junction”
