Jeremie Warnia made an impressive WORCS
racing debut charging his way from nearly
last place to a 4th place finish |
French racer Jeremie Warnia made his WORCS racing
debut as the newest member of the Can-Am Motoworks
team and had some impressive results despite a nasty
first turn crash that sent him to the rear of the
pack, but by the end of lap one, he already moved
up to 15th place. Luckily, Warnia only suffered
a few bumps and bruises and was back out making
a charge for the front. “I was quite frustrated
about my crash. I wanted to come out here and make
a strong impression for my first time,” said
Jeremie. Although he may have not gotten the podium
finish he had hoped for, Warnia still made a big
impression as he charged all the way to a 4th place
finish.
Doug Eichner was looking quite content aboard
his new Polaris Outlaw 450MX and ran an almost
flawless race to secure a top five finish behind
Warnia.

Tires #110 Jarrod McClure had a rough start
to the year, but he managed to secure a
12th place finish and passed the entire
Pro-Am Class along the way |
Unfortunately, there were several racers who were
not as fortunate. Pro GNCC racer Jarrod McClure,
who will be attending most of the WORCS races this
year got off to a horrible start when he and David
Lindsay locked wheels going into the second turn.
“We were stuck so bad that I thought we were
going to have to take my tire off just to get the
quads apart,” said McClure. After almost three
minutes, McClure and Lindsay finally were separated
and by the time they got back on the track, they
were starting after the Pro-am class was released.
By the end of the third lap, McClure had worked
through all of the Pro-am class riders and began
picking off the Pro class one by one, eventually
finishing in 12th place.

Missing from this year’s Pro line up was
WORCS veteran Brandon Brown, who has not missed
a single WORCS race since 2003. Brandon is recovering
from a shoulder injury and hopes to be ready to
go by round number two. “I’m really
bummed that I wasn’t able to be there. This
is the first round I have missed on a very long
time, but I’m hoping to be healed enough
to get back out there by round two,” said
Brandon when we spoke to him by phone.
