Racing's #6 Mike Machado finishes yet again
in 6th place |
Mike Machado, who has been consistently finishing
in the top ten this season, continued on that note
for round three with a respectable 6th place finish,
followed by Kawasaki mounted John Shafe in 7th.
MCR’s Mike Cafro has been riding well this
season and claimed another top ten finish, landing
himself in the number eight spot. “I’m
trying to improve with each round,” said
Cafro, who has been doing just that.
Washington State native, Jorie Williams claimed
the number nine spot and Justin Waters improved
his luck this round with the number ten spot,
which moves him closer to a top ten finish at
season’s end.

Klim's
#10 Jorie Williams has found his groove
as he finishes his 1st race in the top 10
for 2009 with a 9th place finish |
Yamaha's
#95 Justin Waters overcame his early season
bad luck to secure a top 10 finish at Lake
Havasu |
Absent from round number three were MCR’s
Levi Marana and DAT’s Kawasaki’s Robbie
Mitchell, who are both on the injured list. Marana
suffered a broken wrist in Saturday’s practice
when a mistake sent him off the track. “We
hope to see Levi back at the next round, even
if he is just riding to salvage points,”
said MCR team manager Mike Cafro. Robbie Mitchell,
however, may not be so lucky. A dislocated shoulder
has put him out of contention for an unknown period
of time.

Yamaha's
Dustin Nelson makes his rebound at Honey
Lake after an intense battle with Jarrod
McClure to claim the 4th spot, which moves
him back into the 5th spot in points with
65 points & just one point behind Jeremie
Warnia |
Pro
Rookie, #417 Josh Row makes his debut with
the MCR Team at Honey Lake MX as he replaces
the injuried Levi Marana who will be out
for the rest of the season with a hand injury
at the Crazy Horse GP. Row secured a 5th
place finish |
Also brought to everyone’s attention at
this weekend’s events was the cancellation
of round number five, which was scheduled for
June 19-21 in Auburn, WA at Pacific Raceways.
WORCS officials are working on rescheduling the
round and will make an official announcement with
full details when everything has been confirmed.
Round number four of the 2009 WORCS series, however,
is still a go and is scheduled for May 1-3 in
Milford, CA where Honey Lake MX will play host
to the event.
