Josh Frederick out with a broken leg for round five
of the 2009 WORCS series, Team MCR’s Beau
Baron had free reign to take his second win of the
season and take over the points lead, leaving Jeremie
Warnia and Jarrod McClure to settle for second and
                              third.

Raceway is a short drive from Mt Saint Helens,
which erupted on May 18th, 1980 | The WORCS series traveled back to Riverdale Raceway
for the first time in two years. The track contained
a mild Motocross section and a tight technical
woods track, resembling more of a GNCC style course,
which had many a little nervous since most WORCS
courses are more wide open and high speed, but
MCR’s Beau Baron seemed to have little difficulty
                                with any of it.

Dustin Nelson grabbed the Holeshot with
                                      the all-new YFZ450R & held the lead
for the first half of the race with Honda's
                                      Beau Baron in chase |
Baron got off to a good start within the top five,
after a first turn pile up involved several riders,
including Polaris’s Doug Eichner and Can-Am
/ MotoWork’s Brandon Smith, who was back
to support the team during Josh Frederick’s
absence. Baron was looking smooth and confident
as he made his way through the motocross section,
                                heading into the tight woods.

began setting his sights on Jeremie Warnia. Baron
began to reel in Warnia and after a couple of
laps and took over second. Baron then began to
track down Yamaha’s Dustin Nelson who had
a nice lead. Baron began to close the gap and
                                shortly after the halfway point,

Beau Baron shadowed #94 Dustin Nelson for
the 1st half of the race before making the
pass after Nelson clipped a tree, which
allowed Baron to check out on the field
as he secured his 2nd straight win &
control of the points lead with #1 Josh
Frederick skipping Round 5 to recover from
a broken Leg he suffered a few weeks earlier
at Glen Helen | Baron got around Nelson after Nelson clipped
a tree. Baron then began to pull away, eventually
finishing the race with a 30 second lead and a
taking the points lead. “I felt really good
out there today and it felt really good to take
another win for myself and the team. I’m
hoping for a repeat at round six,” said
                                Baron. |
