WORCS Racing - Round
6 - Washougal MX - Pro ATV Race Report
::Continued::
National Guard/Yokley Racing’s Jarrod McClure
took his best finish of the season. McClure started
out just outside of the top five and worked his
way through traffic. McClure would battle his
way past Dustin Nelson and David Haagsma before
reaching the number four spot where he would end
his day.

Guard's #36 Jarrod McClure was flying high
at Washougal claiming a season best 4th
place finish |
Pro Rookie #422 David Haagsma claimed his
4th striaght Top 5 Pro finish at Washougal
MX |
MCR/Maxxis Tire’s David Haagsma put in
a solid effort to finish in the top five. Haagsma
was in the number four spot early in the race
and held his position for several laps despite
pressure from Jarrod McClure. Haagsma would eventually
fall back to the number five spot, but was able
to stay ahead of Dustin Nelson to round out the
top five.
Yamaha’s Dustin Nelson seemed to be having
a somewhat off day as he got off to a slower than
usual start. Nelson was looking good in the motocross
section, but fell back to sixth place in the second
lap and stayed there until reaching the checkered
flag.

Yamaha's
#94 Dustin Nelson finished just outside
the Top 5 with a 6th place finish |
Motoworks' #49 Dillon Zimmerman claimed
a 7th place finish |
Can-Am/Motoworks’ Dillon Zimmerman was
looking strong and smooth as he put in a very
consistent effort. Zimmerman was in the top ten
off the start and kept a steady pace that allowed
him to move into seventh place at the mid-way
point and hold that position all the way to the
finish.
Yamaha’s Josh Row started his race just
outside of the top ten and made up two positions
to take over ninth place by the second lap. Row
stayed consistent and eventually moved into eighth
place before crossing the finish line.
Robbie Mitchell got off to a decent start with
his Honda, taking seventh off the line, but Mitchell
would eventually fall back and end his day in
the number nine spot.
Yamaha mounted Justin Waters kept a consistent
pace as he maintained a top ten position for most
of the race and would round out the top ten at
the end of the day.

Garrin
Fuller (2nd)
, Chase
Thomas
(1st) ,
Collins
Webster (3rd) |
In the Pro-am ranks, Chase Thomas rode an incredible
race, leading the way from start to finish, taking
his first Pro-am win of the year and of his career.
Garrin Fuller maintained a solid second throughout
the entire race to take the second spot on the
Pro-am podium, and points leader Collins Webster
would end his day in third.
In the Side-by-Side classes, Yokely racing took
the Class One win, followed by Mark Holz in second
and Scott Kiger in third. Todd Seaver would take
the Class 2 win, with Jeff Stambach taking the
win in Class 3.
Round number seven of the 2011 WORCS series will
be heading to Glen Helen on September 16th –
18th. Last year, Beau Baron took the win at Glen
Helen and is hoping to beat out Josh Frederick
and Jeremie Warnia at this round for the top of
the box, but it won’t be easy as the Can-Am
racers are locked in a close points battle for
the pro championship.
