WORCS Racing - Round
8 - Pro ATV Race Report
::Continued::
Motorworks/Can-Am’s Josh Frederick did
not have his best race. The # 2 made last minute
changes to his ATV on Saturday night and they
weren’t quite what he was looking for. Arm
pump also made for a long day as the veteran rider
was able to pull together a fifth place finish.

Can-Am
/ DWT / Motoworks’ #2 Josh Frederick
got off to a third place start, but he wasn’t
able to hold off the competition as he dropped
back to a rare fifth place finish, but Frederick
held onto his second spot in points for
yet another year, but the multi-time WORCS
champion was after the big prize, which
eluded him in 2012. |
“I had a good start, came out third and
was finally running up front. I just had an off
day; I went the wrong direction on bike set up
and struggled with it all day. No excuses though
it is what it is and move on from there”
regards Frederick about his finish.
Frederick finished the year in the second spot.
“It’s been a great year. I don’t
regret anything. The team worked hard, I worked
hard. I did the best I could and to finish second
in the pro class is a great accomplishment”
said Frederick.

Can-Am
Josh Frederick secured a season best finish
in the second spot in the Can-Am Commander
1000 SxS with Frederick gaining two spots
in the final lap as he edged out Greg Row
finishing in third. Frederick is looking
to racing the all-new Can-Am Maverick 1000R
SxS next year, which was announced this
weekend at the Sand Sports Show in California.
Frederick had a chance to already drive
the new Maverick, and he was really impressed
with it. |
Despite a less than stellar finish in the Pro
Class Frederick was able to put together his career
best finish aboard his Motorworks / Can-Am Commander
on Saturday in the SxS Production 100 class .Frederick
had good starting position on line one but was
unable to capitalize on it and came out near the
back of the pack. He worked his way to sixth position
and was able to restart there after a bottlenick
in the canyon. Frederick made it up to the forth
spot and near the end of the race was able to
shoot up to second when the leaders ran into difficulties.
Frederick hopes to be able to pilot the all-new
2013 Can-Am Maverick 100R SxS next season.

Yamaha's #417
Josh Row finished in the 6th spot at Honolulu
Hills |
Claiming sixth place was Yamaha’s #417
Josh Row. Row came off the gate next to last and
really had to work hard to make passes through
all the mud and dust. Row began to make time on
the leaders but on the second to last lap lost
his rear brakes which caused him to crash and
kept him back in sixth spot.
“This has been a building season for me
and my mechanic, Kevin Avira. We have been doing
a lot of testing and getting everything better.
I can’t thank him enough for the amount
of work he has done getting the Yamaha better
and better” said Row.
