Primm, NV (2/1/2016) – CST’s Beau Baron won his second consecutive WORCS Pro ATV race during Round 2 of the 2016 Rocky Mountain MC World Off-Road Championship Series presented by Maxxis and Dirt Wheels held at Buffalo Bill’s Casino & Resort. DWT’s Robbie Mitchell finished in the second spot followed by Duncan Racing’s Mike Sloan in the third spot.

Winds gusting up to 50 mph enveloped the Primm track at the start of the ATV Pro Main and a rain shower hit during the middle stages of the race, which added to the challenge for the racers on the rough and technical track that tested both man and machine to make it to the finish line.

This was especially true for David Haagsma. STI’s Mike Sloan took the holeshot with Haagsma just behind. Looking to dominate, Haagsma took the lead on the first lap and was running away with the race. However, a mechanical breakdown on the final lap put a stop to Haagsma’s run, handing the lead and eventual victory to Beau Baron.

“I like to go out there and win heads up,” said Baron. “I pulled over on the final lap and offered to tow him in and he told me to get going. It’s a shame that happened. I’m bummed. This is a good thing for my points, but I don’t want to win this way.
