Primm, NV (2/1/2016) – David Haagsma won the Pro UTV race at Buffalo Bill’s Casino & Resort with the WORCS series having a record UTV turnout with 158 entries at Round 2 of the Rocky Mountain ATV WORCS presented by Maxxis and Dirt Wheels. Cody Bradbury claimed the second spot ahead of Mickey Thomas in the Pro UTV class to round out the podium.

The Buffalo Bill’s course featured its typical rough and sandy racing surface. The shortened track became extremely whooped out and technical, which made it a really challenging course, and despite the gale force winds, the WORCS staff kept the track in watered to minimize the dust.   Even with the record turnout, lapped traffic wasn’t a major issue for the frontrunner's with the UTV racers spread out over three different race events to reduce the traffic on the track during each race.

Cognito Motorsports' David Haagsma started on the second row and ran a flawless race to record the victory with adjust time. With the starting order set by points, Haagsma, who suffered a belt problem in Round one and finished 14th, had his work cut out for him. After passing RJ Anderson on the first lap, Haagsma made his way through the field, and finished ten seconds ahead of Cody Bradbury with time adjustment.

“I had to catch those guys and try to make some passes,” said Haagsma. “A lap in, I passed RJ and then we started working our way through the field. We were passing lappers and the front guys. Every time I passed the pits they were showing me moving up: fourth place overall, third place overall and so on. Then at the end of the race, they were really freaking out so I knew I had a chance. I just kept pinning it, watching the lappers and it worked out.”

“This turned out to be a perfect race and the RZR was perfect,” added Haagsma. “I wish we had a little better luck in the first race. I was in the top three when we threw a belt, but a lot of people had trouble here. It’s a long season, so we’re definitely still in the championship hunt.”

Cody Bradbury recovered from rolling over in the first turn at the start, which sent him to the back of his row, but he drove hard and finished first physically and second with the time adjustment. Bradbury said it was tough overcoming the rough and difficult course.

“It was pretty sketchy out there,” said Bradbury. “I went to make a pass on the double and the frame cased it. So from there I put my head down, went through some tear offs and tried to run as fast as possible. All in all, it was a good weekend. I’m glad I’m up here and that I finished. The track was rough. This was one of the rougher Primm tracks I can remember.”
